PPA Holds It's Annual Chili Cookoff

Pediatric Psychology Associates will be holding its annual Chili Cookoff tonight! Lots of great chili, excellent music, and a good time with friends, all for a great cause to raise money for the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities! We've had some people tell us they couldn't attend but still wanted to contribute. If you'd like to make a donation, you can do so through PayPal. Dr. Samantha Carella will be interviewed on 880AM The Biz today at 3pm. She will be discussing different treatments and research regarding autism spectrum disorders, including elaboration about the social skills groups we run in our practice in Coral Springs, Aventura, and Coral Gables. PPA Chosen To Speak at the 19th Annual Card Conference

Pediatric Psychology Associates is proud to announce that three of our team members will be presenting at the 19th Annual Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) Conference in Orlando, FL this weekend! 

Dr. Nick Maccarrone and Dr. Susan Acosta will be leading a presentation titled "The Role of Psychologists in Transition to Adulthood for Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders."

Dr. Judith Migoya will be speaking along with Allison Hertog, MS, Esq. in a presentation titled "Fulfilling Your ASD Child's needs: Navigating the Maze of Evaluations, Services, and Legal Advocacy."

Two New Teen Groups Starting

Pediatric Psychology Associates is excited to inform Families and Colleagues of 2 new groups that will be starting in January 2012: Girls Tween Group- Ages 12 to 14, and Girls Teen Group- Ages 14 to 17. Tween/Teen Groups goal is to provide a well-structured and safe environment where members can discuss issues related to: peer pressure/socialization, school related stressors, effective coping skills, family issues, appropriate vs. inappropriate behaviors, better decision making/problem solving, and other topics as requested by group member.
